Royal Bay provide a selection of care homes across Dorset,West Sussex & Northamptonshire. Each care home runs a program of events and here are just two examples taken from this summer.
The Old Vicarage Care Home
June was a busy month for The Old Vicarage Care Home, with
the Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebrations.
The colourful street party at the residential care home in Kettering, Northamptonshire was a scene of all things British with traditional flag bunting, pictures of HRH, a royal feast and a scrumptious three tier birthday cake fit for a queen.
The weather was kind as families joined residents and staff to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday in the grounds of this elderly care home showing what great patriotic spirited folk there are staying here.
More photos from this event can be viewed on the Royal Bay Facebook page.
July was another activity packed month at The Old Vicarage
Care Home for our respite care guests and permanent residents as they enjoyed a 'play your cards right' activity, got out and about for some local shopping trips in the Kettering area and experienced a pet day where they made a fuss of some furry friends.
Larks Leas Rest Home
Larks Leas Rest Home in Blandford, Dorset was also very busy in June with two memorable events that involved two very special people!
Firstly the team and residents celebrated the Queen’s 90th
Birthday by hosting a tea party in the garden at Larks Leas Rest Home with
yummy cakes, traditional party food and lots of patriotic party spirit.
This event was soon overshadowed by the staff and residents
joining together for a Cancer Research fund
raising event during National Care Homes Week. Care Worker Nathan braved the shave as Mandy, Activities Co-ordinator, took to his scalp with a razor!Between
the team, respite care guests and the care home residents they raised nearly £300 through the sponsored charity event, cake sale and raffle which will go towards helping people affected by cancer. The
event was such a success it was covered by the Blackmore Vale local paper, you
can read the full story and see the pictures of Mandy in action in this Larks Leas Rest Home article.
In July, Larks Leas residents also enjoyed their Summer Fayre and raised a good sum of money for their own resident’s fund.
The Royal Bay group of care homes are all working towards or have already become Gold Standard Accredited Care Homes showing they are committed to quality improvement, quality assurance, and quality care for all their residents.
